Pick your disc
openMX plays from your own copy of MX Unleashed for the PlayStation 2. Pick the disc image you dumped. It is copied into this browser's own storage for this site (OPFS), stays there for your next visit, and never leaves your machine.
Three steps
Dump your disc
Make an .iso of your own MX Unleashed disc with a PC drive or a PS2. The guide walks through it.
Pick it here
It is copied once into this browser. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing from the disc is on this site.
Ride
Next time the page opens straight on the menu. Ride alone, or join a friend with their code.
About
The original
MX Unleashed, Rainbow Studios' motocross game, published by THQ in 2004: free roam over big open maps, supercross and nationals, the biplane, the monster truck and the rest of the lot.
openMX
A from-scratch rewrite in Rust. The physics, the timing and the rules are ported and proved against the original, tick for tick; the picture is new, drawn as sharp as your screen allows. Everything is read from your disc as you play.
Desktop
Linux & Steam Deck
The same game as a native build: the GPU renderer, pads, split screen and mods. Unpack it, put kit.toml beside it
with your disc image's path, and run openmx.
Windows
Coming soon. Every build, its release notes and its signed checksums are on GitHub.
